Our platform for DRM

Context
The previous studies on AM digital broadcasting allow to have today a broadcasting channel prototype including a multiplexer compliant with the DRM specs.
TDF CCETT studied and realized a receiving prototype (tuner and software), which is also, compliant with the last DRM specs.
TDF CCETT is contributing to the DRM standardization workshops (Channel coding Multiplex and modulation, System evaluation, Distribution interfaces, data application).


DRM platform
It includes
- DRM broadcasting chain (short wave, medium wave)
- Wide band mode (18 or 20 KHz);
- Simulcast allowing to broadcast simultaneously analog and digital signals in the same channel;
- SFN networks on narrow bands;
- AFS signalling for the continuity of the radio program.

This is the ideal environment provided by TDF to validate the various following services:
- DRM audio coding and multiplexing,
- DRM channel coding and modulation
- Tests and validity of services,
- Tests patterns (I,Q)
- Test of consumer DRM receivers
- Survey of DRM broadcasting

Projects
TDF CCETT contributes to the DRM Consortium and is involved in the following European projects:
- EUREKA DIAM, whose objective is to enhance new technologies and products to the technical and economical benefit of the consumer of Digital system for Radio Broadcasting.
